Undergraduate Programmes offered
B. Sc. Biotechnology: Three years (6 semesters)
B. Sc. Microbiology: Three years (6 semesters)
Eligibility for both undergraduate programmes: A pass in higher secondary examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate in Biology, Physics and Chemistry from any State Board, CBSE or equivalent.
Admission process: Admission to B.Sc. (Biotechnology) and B.Sc. (Microbiology) programmes is on the basis of aggregate percentage of marks scored in Physics, Chemistry & Biology. Counselling intimation letter specifying the date, time, venue of the counseling, and original certificates to be presented at the time of counseling is send to the eligible candidates after the last date of submission of filled in application forms. Provisional Admission Order is issued after the verification of the academic records. Candidate shall surrender all his/her original documents of the qualifying examination in case the admission is accepted. If the required documents are not submitted by the candidate on time, or if the eligibility criteria is not satisfied, the decision of the University regarding his/ her eligibility for admission to the program shall be final and binding.

Postgraduate Programmes offered:
M. Sc. Biotechnology: Two years (4 semesters) Eligibility: Graduate degree in any discipline of science including Mathematics, Engineering or Medicine with a minimum of 60% aggregate. Background in Biology is preferred.
M. Sc. Microbiology: Two years (4 semesters) Eligibility: Graduate degree in any discipline of science including Mathematics, Engineering or Medicine with a minimum of 60% aggregate. Background in Biology is preferred.
M. Sc. Computational Biology & Bioinformatics: Two years (4 semesters) Eligibility: Graduate degree in any discipline of science including Mathematics, Engineering or Medicine with a minimum of 60% aggregate. Background in Mathematics or Computer Science is preferred.
Admission process: Selection to all the postgraduate programmes will be made on the basis of performance in the qualifying examination, rank scored in the Amrita Entrance Examination (Biotechnology / Computational Biology & Bioinformatics / Microbiology) – 2012 and personal interview to be held at Amritapuri (Kollam).
Entrance examination will be conducted at 11 centers across India
The rank list after entrance examination will be available from the University website.
An intimation letter specifying the date time of interview and details of original certificates to be presented for verification during the interview will be sent to the candidates.
In addition to direct notification to the provisionally selected candidates, the final rank list of after interview will be announced at and School notice board and School / University website.

Doctoral Programmes offered:
Doctoral Programme (Ph.D.) in Biotechnology
Doctoral Programme (Ph.D.) in Bioinformatics
Eligibility for both doctoral programmes: Post Graduation in any discipline of Science, or Graduation or Post Graduation in Engineering or Medicine. Background in Biology is preferred. Candidate must have qualified the CSIR/UGC NET for JRF.
