Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Amritapuri Campus, is located in Vallickavu about 10 km from 'Ochira' junction on NH47 Alapuzha-Thiruvanathapuram highway. From the north By Air and Taxi: Cochin International Airport at Nedumbassery is 140 km north from the School of Biotechnology(situated in Amrita University Campus, Kollam). Pre-paid taxi service is available at the airport. Ask for a prepaid taxi to Amrita Institutions, Amritapuri, Kollam. The taxi journey takes about three hours and costs about Rs. 1,700. By Train: Kayamkulam (12 km north of Amritapuri) is the closest town situated towards north of the school. Small auto-rickshaws can bring you to School of Biotechnology, which takes about 20 minutes and costs about Rs. 120. Bus services are also available from Kayamkulam Bus Stand to Vallikavu, which is approximately five minute walk from the school of Biotechnology. By Bus: From the Ernakulam transport bus stand, board a bus going towards Trivandrum via Alappuzha, and alight at Ochira. From Ochira, either hire an auto-rickshaw to Amritapuri straight, which is a 6 km drive from Ochira and costs about Rs. 60 or board a bus going towards Vallickavu. A five minute walk from Vallicavu bus stop takes you to the School of Biotechnology. From the south By Air and Taxi : The closest airport is in Trivandrum (110 km south of Amritapuri). At the airport you may go to the "Airport Taxi Service" counter and ask for a prepaid taxi to Amrita Institutions, Amritapuri. The journey takes about three hours and costs about Rs. 1,300. By Train: Karunagapally (10 km south) is the closest town from the School. Small auto-rickshaws can bring you to Vallickavu. The journey takes about 15 minutes and costs about Rs. 90. Bus service is also available from Karunagapally. By Bus: From the Trivandrum transport bus stand board a bus going towards Ernakulam via Kollam and alight at Karunagappally. From Karunagappally board a bus towards Vallickavu. School of Biotechnology , Amrita Institutions premises is hardly a five-minute walk towards the West from the Vallickavu bus stop. |
