AMMA is the chancellor, founder and the guiding light for all activities of Amrita institutions. The thrust has been to make them into world class centres of learning and research, at the same time nurturing and encouraging the age old value systems in students and faculty.
The new students, inducted into the post graduate and under graduate programmes in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics and Microbiology, were warmly welcomed in a short but sweet programme held in the School on 8 th of August 07. Swamini Krishnamrita Prana, one of the senior disciples of AMMA, graciously agreed to preside as the Chief Guest on this occasion.
After the traditional lighting of the lamp, Dr. Bipin Nair, Chairman, School of Biotechnology delivered the welcome address which was followed by the inspiring Benedictory speech given by Swamini Krishnamrita Prana. Br. Sudeep, Director of Amritapuri campus also addressed the new students & the programme was concluded by distribution of Prasad and a copy of AMMA’s Biography by respected Swamini Amma.
Later in the day, the students planted tree saplings as a token of their love & respect to Mother Nature.
