Distinguished Lecture Series 1

On January 14th 2008, the School of Biotechnology started the new semester with a special program to honor three distinguished scientists who have won national awards. Dr. Ajay Ghosh, the 2007 Bhatnagar award winner for Chemistry, gave a talk entitled ‘Chemistry – Art and Architecture with Molecules’. Dr. N. Srinivasan, the 2007 Bhatnagar award winner for Life Sciences shared his views on the ‘Recognition of Distantly Related Proteins Uing Sequence Specific Space Walk and Artificial Protein like Sequencing. Dr. Sowdhamani, the winner of the 2006 DBT Best Woman Scientist Award, gave a talk on ‘Structural Motifs in Protein Super Families’. The program was well attended and was a source of inspiration for students and faculties alike.
